General Summary 

New Horizon Bank is seeking a Branch Manager to lead our corporate-style branch located in the ICON building in downtown Norfolk. This is not a traditional high-volume retail branch role. It is a hybrid operator–producer position responsible for delivering exceptional client service, executing transactions with precision, opening and managing deposit relationships, and driving business development in the Hampton Roads market.

Key Responsibilities

Branch Operations & Client Service

  • Process daily banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, wires, ACH, and related account activity.
  • Open and manage consumer and commercial deposit accounts.
  • Ensure strict adherence to BSA/AML, CIP, and internal compliance standards.
  • Maintain operational integrity, accuracy, and risk discipline.
  • Deliver a high-touch service experience to business and professional clients.

Deposit Growth & Business Development

  • Proactively develop new deposit relationships in the Norfolk market.
  • Build connections within the downtown business community, including real estate, professional services, and entrepreneurial networks.
  • Partner with lenders and treasury management to deepen client relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to expand noninterest-bearing deposits and relationship accounts.
  • Represent the Bank at community and networking events.

Relationship Ownership

  • Serve as primary contact for key Norfolk-based clients.
  • Coordinate complex service needs across departments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and problem-solver for business customers.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of banking experience with strong knowledge of deposit products and branch operations.
  • Experience opening commercial and consumer accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate business and grow relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and compliance discipline.
  • Professional presence suited for a corporate office environment.
  • Existing Hampton Roads network preferred.
